The Riggs family has been raising high-quality beef cattle for over 150 years. The lush, high-elevation pastures surrounding Mare Pasture have historically produced some of the nation’s finest horses, cattle, sheep, and orchards. 

BR Range Beef is committed to using sustainable agricultural practices to produce high-quality organic, grass-fed beef, marketed with the original “BR” brand used on the original Riggs Settlement ranch. Mare Pasture’s agricultural products will be marketed primarily in greater Arizona and New Mexico.

An important aspect of the ranch is to raise cattle under the most humane, low stress, and natural conditions possible, producing the highest quality meats. To process the beef, the most technologically advanced facilities under the strictest quality and health safety conditions will be used. Since BR Range Beef will be a naturally grown product combined with the health benefits and great flavor of grass-fed beef, BR Range Beef promises to deliver a superior Arizona-grown product to the market.

BR RANGE BEEF OBJECTIVES

Establish an efficiently and properly managed, naturally raised "grass-fed" and "grass-finished" beef cattle operation.

Establish BR Range Beef as a well-known and well-respected producer of high-quality grass-fed beef.

Provide grass-fed beef that is humanely raised and handled in a clean, stress-free, and healthy environment.

Provide grass-fed, organic beef without the use of antibiotics, artificial steroids, hormones, pesticides or insecticides, irradiation, etc.

Provide annual sales of $150,000.00 in the third year, increasing to a minimum of $250,000.00 by the fifth year of operation.

Generate after-tax profits after the third year of operation.
